Khaled Mashal, the head of Hamas abroad, believes that Palestinians currently have a historic opportunity to achieve victory over Israel.
"I am addressing the [Palestinian movement] Fatah and the [Palestinian] security services in the West Bank [of the Jordan River]. Guys, this is a moment of great historical significance. Let's unite and emerge victorious together, defeating our common enemy," as he expressed in an interview with Al Arabiya TV. He went on to emphasize that the Palestinians feel they "have nothing to lose."
He also criticized the US response to the deaths of Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip, describing the US administration as "immoral and inhumane."
