Indonesian President urged to increase supplies of food and fertilizers from Russia

Indonesian President Joko Widodo called for greater efforts to restore global supply chains for Russian food and fertilizers, emphasizing that they are not subject to sanctions. This statement was made by the head of state while speaking at a session of the G7 summit.


"The G7 and G20 countries must actively work to overcome the food crisis, which currently particularly threatens the people of developing countries," Detikcom news portal quoted Vidodo as saying on Tuesday.


The president stressed "the importance of restoring the global supply chains of Ukrainian wheat and Russian food and fertilizers." "We must emphasize that [Russian] supplies are not subject to sanctions," Widodo added. In this regard, he called for "active communication with banks, insurance companies, carriers to convince them that there are no restrictions on supplies.
