Iranian President Highlights How BRICS and SCO Membership Will Aid in Countering Sanctions

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has expressed the belief that Iran's entry into organizations such as BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) could serve as a means to counteract the adverse consequences of Western sanctions.

 

"Our participation in the global BRICS alliance and our inclusion in the regional Shanghai Cooperation Organization can certainly contribute to countering the impact of US sanctions," Raisi stated during a press conference held in Tehran.

 

He highlighted that Iran's economic prowess would enhance the standing of both organizations on the global stage. "Considering our substantial capabilities, we view Iran's inclusion in BRICS and SCO, along with engagement in other regional partnerships, as highly impactful," - he stressed. - "The benefits are reciprocal, as Iran's membership will be advantageous for all alliance participants, including our own country."
