Japarov: No Political Disagreements Between Russia and Kyrgyzstan

02 July

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov emphasized that relations between Kyrgyzstan and Russia are marked by mutual understanding and trust, with no political disputes or disagreements. He made the remarks during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.

“Our countries enjoy complete mutual understanding and trust — there are no political disagreements or contradictions between us,” Japarov said during his working visit to the Russian capital.

Looking ahead, Japarov extended an invitation for Putin to visit Kyrgyzstan in the fall of 2025. “We look forward to welcoming you in Kyrgyzstan during the CSTO Collective Security Council session scheduled for November 2025,” he noted. He added that the July 2 meeting in Moscow was “a great opportunity to discuss pressing issues of bilateral cooperation.”

“I hope we’ll exchange views on ways to further develop the strategic partnership and alliance between our nations, for the benefit of both sides,” Japarov stated.

Russia remains one of Kyrgyzstan’s key economic partners. In 2023, trade between the two countries reached $3.5 billion, with plans to grow that figure to $5 billion by 2025. In 2024, Russian investments in Kyrgyzstan totaled approximately $280 million — nearly a quarter of all foreign investment into the country. That same year, Kyrgyz migrant workers in Russia sent home nearly $2.6 billion in remittances.
