Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan held discussions on the developments in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone, the situation in Lebanon, and the state of affairs in Syria. The Russian Foreign Ministry shared details of the conversation following a phone call between the two ministers.
“The ministers exchanged views on key aspects of the global and regional agenda, with a focus on recent events in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict zone, the situation in Lebanon, and developments in Syria. They emphasized the need for broad international efforts under UN auspices to facilitate an inclusive, nationwide dialogue involving all political and ethnoconfessional groups in Syria. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close foreign policy coordination, including within international organizations,” the ministry said.
The statement added that Sergey Lavrov and Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan reaffirmed the mutual interest of Moscow and Abu Dhabi in further advancing their multifaceted strategic partnership. This partnership is anchored in agreements reached at the highest level, particularly during the talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Moscow in October 2024.
