Lavrov Attends Meeting of Central Asian Foreign Ministers in Minsk

12 April

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov participated in the seventh meeting of foreign ministers from five Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. This event took place on the sidelines of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers, which Lavrov chaired in Minsk on April 12, as reported by TASS.

"This format is crucial for regularly exchanging views on regional security and current international issues," Lavrov stated opening the meeting.

As previously reported by the Russian Foreign Ministry, the meeting's participants discussed the progress of implementing agreements reached during the first Russia-Central Asia summit held in Astana on October 14, 2022. They also discussed key international and regional issues, with a particular focus on environmental concerns and cooperation opportunities in this area.
