Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and ambassadors from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) outlined key cooperation priorities and discussed the creation of a new security architecture in Eurasia. The Russian Foreign Ministry reported on the meeting, which took place in Moscow and was also attended by CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev.
"During the event, participants reviewed the results of CIS cooperation in 2024 under Russia’s chairmanship and set key objectives for the future. The discussions focused on strengthening foreign policy coordination, expanding trade, economic, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation, and enhancing security measures," the ministry stated.
According to the ministry, the participants also exchanged views on pressing global and regional issues, including the implementation of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s initiative to establish a new architecture for equal and indivisible security in Eurasia.
