Russia and the Union of the Comoros continue to engage constructively on the international stage and intend to strengthen their mutually beneficial cooperation, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in a congratulatory message marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
In his message, Lavrov noted the “traditionally friendly and partnership-based ties” between Moscow and Moroni. “Russia and the Comoros constructively cooperate on international issues, and I am confident that our mutually beneficial bilateral partnership will continue to develop successfully for our peoples and in the interests of peace and stability in the western Indian Ocean,” the statement quoted Lavrov as saying.
Comoros’ Foreign Minister Mbae Mohamed, in his corresponding message, reaffirmed his country’s continued commitment to deepening political dialogue and expanding productive cooperation with Russia in trade, the economy, humanitarian efforts, and other fields.
