The position of Russia and the principles for settling the conflict in Ukraine are understood by the member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated this at a press conference after a meeting of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers in Tianjin.
"The colleagues understand our position on the need to address the root causes of the conflict and recognize the current territorial realities, guaranteeing the legitimate rights of Russians and Russian-speaking populations, including in areas remaining under the control of the Kiev regime," Lavrov said.
He added that he had informed SCO partners about the latest developments in Ukraine and reaffirmed Russia's approaches to resolving the crisis, which have been repeatedly emphasized by President Vladimir Putin.
