Pashinyan: the Karabakh issue does not have a diplomatic solution at the moment

21 October 2020

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan believes that due to the hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh, the conflict cannot be resolved by diplomatic means at this stage.

"First, I want to state that we must realize that the Karabakh issue at this stage and starting from this stage has no diplomatic solution for a long time. All those hopes and suggestions that it is necessary to find a diplomatic solution in this situation should be considered completed. We have always said that we are ready to solve the issue based on compromise. But what is acceptable for the Armenian side is already unacceptable for the Azerbaijani side," he said on Wednesday during a live broadcast on his Facebook page.

Pashinyan also noted that Armenia feels allied support of Russia as a strategic partner.

"Today and throughout this period, I highly appreciate the cooperation between Armenia and Russia. We feel the allied support of Russia as a strategic partner of Armenia and the Armenian people. We are constantly cooperating at a high level in order to find ways out of this situation," he noted.
