President-elect of Kyrgyzstan Japarov plans to pay his first foreign visit to Russia

Sadyr Japarov who won the presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan plans to pay his first foreign visit to Russia. Ravshan Sabirov, acting deputy prime minister of the republic, said this on Monday in Bishkek during a speech in the parliament.


"The new president's first visit to Russia is planned," he said. At the same time, Sabirov did not say on what date the visit was planned.


On January 10, early presidential elections were held in Kyrgyzstan, and also a referendum on the choice of the form of governance in the country - presidential or parliamentary. There were 17 candidates running for president. Japarov received 79.2 percent of the vote. His inauguration is scheduled for January 28.


More than 81% of citizens support the presidential form of government. Turnout during the election was 39.16% (of 3.56mln voters) and during the referendum 39.12%.
