Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, the Kremlin press service reported.
"They discussed the prospects for further development of mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation with a focus on the practical implementation of existing agreements in trade, energy and transport. Some issues of the international agenda were also touched upon, including ensuring stability in the Transcaucasus and the Syrian settlement," the statement said.
The Kremlin also reported that the Iranian president expressed his full support for the Russian leadership in connection with the June 24 events.
In addition, Putin congratulated the Iranian leadership and people on the upcoming Eid al-Adha holiday.
The presidents agreed to continue personal contacts.
