Putin and El-Sisi Discuss Regional Escalation and Strategic Projects

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi held a telephone conversation to address the unprecedented surge in tensions between Iran and Israel and the broader Middle East.


"The situation resulting from the unprecedented escalation of the conflict in the Middle East was discussed in detail," the Kremlin stated.


Both leaders underscored the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire and the pursuit of political and diplomatic agreements. They emphasized that any resolution must unconditionally respect the interests of all nations within the region to prevent further instability.


Beyond regional security, Putin and el-Sisi reviewed the progress of their bilateral strategic partnership, focusing on large-scale investment projects in the energy and industrial sectors. Specific attention was given to the ongoing construction of the El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant and the development of the Russian Industrial Zone within the Suez Canal Economic Zone.


According to the Russian side, both presidents expressed satisfaction with the "overall positive dynamic of the multifaceted cooperation" between Russia and Egypt.
