Putin and Rahmon to Hold Talks in Moscow

Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon in Moscow on March 18 for official negotiations. This follows an informal meeting between the two leaders on March 16, which also included Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

 

According to the Kremlin press service, the talks will focus on strategic partnership and alliance between Russia and Tajikistan, with special attention to trade, investment, humanitarian cooperation, and security. Tajikistan's Foreign Ministry also noted discussions on political, economic, and cultural collaboration.

 

Additionally, the leaders will discuss regional issues and launch the construction of two major projects in Dushanbe via video link:

 

The International Educational Center for Gifted Children
The State Russian Drama Theater named after Vladimir Mayakovsky

 

Following the visit, several bilateral agreements will be signed.

 

This marks Rahmon’s 88th visit to Russia since 1992. His last trip was in December 2024 for an informal CIS summit in Russia’s Leningrad region.
