Putin: Consequences of Middle East Conflict Difficult to Predict

26 March

The escalation of conflict in the Middle East has jeopardized a range of global industries, and the long-term consequences remain difficult to forecast — even for those directly involved, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during the plenary session of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs congress.

"The armed conflict in the Middle East is making an increasingly noticeable impact on today's situation, causing significant damage to international logistics, production, and cooperation chains," the president emphasized during his address to business leaders.

Putin pointed out that entire sectors have come under pressure, specifically those involving the extraction and processing of hydrocarbons and metals, as well as the production of fertilizers and various other commodities. "The consequences of the conflict in the Middle East are still difficult to accurately predict. It seems to me that even those involved in the conflict cannot predict anything themselves," the Russian leader noted.
