Putin discussed with Rakhmon the situation in the region and further cooperation

Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed with his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rakhmon joint work within the framework of integration associations and the situation in the Central Asian region. This was reported on Friday by the Kremlin press service following a telephone conversation between the two leaders.


" The parties discussed the issues of increasing coordination within the framework of integration associations in the Eurasian space, including in view of Tajikistan's chairmanship in 2021 in the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. There was also an exchange of views on the situation in the Central Asian region in the context of the development of the situation in Afghanistan," the press service said.


They added that Putin and Rakhmon confirmed in their conversation their mutual desire to further strengthen Russian-Tajikistani relations, strategic partnership and alliance.


"It was agreed on the interdepartmental elaboration of some practical aspects of interaction," the Kremlin pointed out.
