Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed hope that the upcoming elections in Libya will lead to the stabilization of the situation in the country.
"We assume that the planned elections there (in Libya - ed.) will take place within the previously agreed terms and will lead to stabilization in that country," Putin said during a press conference following talks with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. He added that Russia is in contact with all interested parties, including the leading countries of the European Union and Turkey.
"I hope that a solution that will satisfy everyone and lead to long-term stabilization will be found," the Russian leader added.
