Putin Meets with Turkish Parliament Speaker in Kremlin

25 September

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with Numan Kurtulmus, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, at the Kremlin.

While Kurtulmus had indicated to TASS that he planned to speak with the Russian leader, the Kremlin had not officially announced the meeting, though it confirmed that an international engagement was scheduled for the president.

During his visit to Moscow, Kurtulmus also met with Vyacheslav Volodin, Speaker of the Russian State Duma. The two discussed cooperation between Russia and Turkey, highlighting that the high level of trust between Moscow and Ankara has been facilitated, in large part, by the strong personal relationship between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Relations between Russia and Turkey continue to develop robustly, with Ankara being one of the top three trade partners of Moscow.
