Putin: Russia and US Take First Steps Toward Cooperation in Middle East

19 February

Russia and the United States have begun improving collaboration on various issues, including those related to the Middle East, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated while speaking to journalists during a visit to a drone manufacturing plant in St. Petersburg.

“In my view, we have taken the first step toward improving cooperation on a range of issues of mutual interest. This includes the Middle East, covering Syria, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and other key matters. Many of these issues involve both the US and Russia,” Putin said.

However, the Russian president emphasized that Moscow remains primarily focused on the situation in Ukraine.
