Rashid Al Nuaimi: In Russia, national and religious citizenship complement each other harmoniously

20 May 2022

Chairman of the World Council of Muslim Communities Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi spoke at a meeting of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia-Islamic World".

"I come from the UAE - it is a state of peaceful coexistence. Now we observe the initiatives of Tatarstan, various events that are held at the level of the Russian Federation. But we need to pay attention to the following, in the Islamic world there are different types of citizenship - national, religious, and in the Russian Federation they complement each other. This pluralism and mutual understanding must become a mechanism that protects all these kinds of citizenship. This is a problem in Muslim countries. For us, Tatarstan is an example of the realization of two kinds of citizenship. In the GSV " Russia-Islamic World"  today we must realize the principle of relations between Muslims of different countries, which have existed for many centuries. Our responsibility is to make this relationship permanent and strengthen it. At the global level, our task is to ensure stability, equality and equity. The crisis will end, but new ones may begin, and we must ensure a "stable tomorrow". The'Group of Strategic Vision  "Russia - Islamic World" is a tribune and a basis for the development of comprehensive relations between Russia and Islamic countries," he said.
