Russia and Lebanon Emphasize Need to Prevent Spread of Gaza Conflict

Russian Presidential Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Lebanese Ambassador to Moscow Shawki Bou Nassar discussed the escalating situation in the Middle East, stressing the importance of preventing the Palestinian-Israeli conflict from spreading to other states in the region.

 

"During the conversation, the parties discussed the ongoing tense situation in the Middle East," - the Russian foreign ministry reported. - "The Russian side reaffirmed its unwavering support for the unity, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of Lebanon, emphasizing the inadmissibility of further expansion of the conflict in the Gaza Strip and the involvement of regional states."

 

Additionally, the parties considered key issues in Russian-Lebanese relations, including the maintenance of regular political dialogue and the exchange of delegations. The meeting was initiated by the Lebanese diplomat.
