Lasting stability in Syria and progress toward post-conflict resolution can only be achieved with the participation of all internal political forces, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated in response to media questions ahead of Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's annual press conference on Russian diplomacy in 2024.
"We firmly believe that lasting stability in Syria and favorable conditions for its post-conflict recovery can only be realized through a comprehensive political process, as outlined in UN Security Council Resolution 2254. This process must include all key political forces and ethnic and religious groups in the country, including the Kurds. At the same time, we stress the importance of strictly upholding Syria's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity," the ministry said.
