The prospects for a Middle East settlement were a central focus during meetings between Alexander Venediktov, the Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council, and the heads of diplomatic missions from Middle Eastern and North African nations in Moscow.
According to reports following the meetings held between March 24 and 27, significant attention was dedicated to regional issues and the potential for resolving the ongoing conflict. Venediktov’s interlocutors included the ambassadors of Egypt and Lebanon, among others.
A major secondary focus of the discussions was the preparation for the upcoming Security Forum, scheduled for late May under the auspices of the Russian Security Council. Russia has invited over 180 foreign delegations and international organizations to the event, alongside prominent scholars and security experts. The forum is designed to bring together Russian security ministries, defense industry enterprises, and state corporations for dozens of thematic sessions and exhibitions.
