Sergey Lavrov to Address UN General Assembly on September 27

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will deliver a speech at the UN General Assembly on September 27, the Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Department of International Organizations, Kirill Logvinov, told TASS.

 

“The central event will be the speech of Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov during the general political debate on September 27,” Logvinov said.

 

According to him, a number of ministerial-level events are planned in New York, including meetings within the frameworks of BRICS, the Group of Twenty (G20), the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), and the Group of Friends in Defense of the UN Charter.

 

Additionally, the Russian delegation will be represented at a high level at the second round of the International Conference supporting the two-state solution of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the meeting of the UN Peacebuilding Commission, and events organized under the Global Initiative on Development and climate change discussions.

 

The general political debates during the high-level week at the UN General Assembly session will take place from September 23 to 27, and on September 29.
