Tajikistan's Foreign Minister states no difficult issues between Dushanbe and Moscow

Tajikistan and Russia are strategic partners and there are no difficult issues between the two countries. Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin said this at a press conference on Friday, answering a question from the TASS correspondent.

 

"There are no difficult issues between Tajikistan and Russia that need to be emphasized today," he said.


According to the minister, even with optimal relations between the states, there are constantly unresolved issues, but they are addressed through various mechanisms, such as intergovernmental commissions. "But we have no problems with our strategic partner," Muhriddin stressed.


Tajikistan and Russia established diplomatic relations on April 8, 1992. Since then, the countries have concluded over 300 interstate, intergovernmental and interdepartmental agreements.


At the end of 2022, the volume of trade between the two countries exceeded $1.67 billion. Interregional cooperation is developing - Tajikistan has established trade relations with 80 Russian regions. The Russian-Tajik (Slavic) University, branches of three Moscow universities: Lomonosov Moscow State University, MISIS National Research Technological University and MPEI National Research University operate in the republic. Through the Rossotrudnichestvo, quotas for studying in Russian universitiesare annually allocated. In total, there are about 30,000 Tajik students studying there.
