Presidents Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan and Vladimir Putin of Russia have underscored the significance of their forthcoming negotiations in Moscow during a telephone conversation, according to the Kazakh leader's press service.
The discussion focused on preparations for President Tokayev's upcoming state visit to the Russian Federation, with both leaders highlighting the importance of the Moscow talks for advancing the strategic partnership and alliance between their nations.
The conversation also touched upon certain aspects of the current global situation.
The state visit is scheduled for November 12.
The announcement follows Kazakh Foreign Minister Erzhan Kazykhanov's earlier statement after meeting with Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov that Tokayev's visit aims to provide "additional powerful momentum to the entire complex of cooperation, similar to President Vladimir Putin's visit to Kazakhstan last year."
