Lebanese Ambassador to Moscow Chawki Bou Nassar called Russia a great power and a country of great opportunities in politics, economy and culture.
"I would say it is a great honor to represent a country in such a great power. Because Russia is really a country of great opportunities both in politics, in economics and in culture," he said Thursday at a press conference for the screening of the joint Russian-Lebanese feature film "Wrath."
The ambassador noted that culture plays a very important role in bringing nations closer together. "This is the so-called soft power," the ambassador pointed out, adding that he and the Lebanese government are working to bring "cultural cooperation with Russia <...> to the same level as the political ties [between Russia and Lebanon] are at." "I hope that very soon we will be able to achieve this goal," the Lebanese diplomat stressed.
