Emir of Qatar: Netanyahu Seeks to Turn Arab World into Sphere of Israeli Influence

15 September

Qatar's Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of aiming to turn the Arab world into an area of Israeli influence, as evidenced by ongoing conflicts in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria. The statement was made during an extraordinary summit of the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Doha.

“The Israeli prime minister, who boasts about reshaping the Middle East over the past two years, in reality seeks the ability for Israel to invade any country in the region at will. His dream is to turn the Arab world into a sphere of Israeli influence, and this is a dangerous illusion. The extremist government strives to make Israeli airstrikes on countries in the region a routine occurrence,” the Emir said.

The summit, which began in Doha on September 15, focuses on Israel’s strike on the Hamas leadership residence in Qatar. Participants aim to coordinate a unified response and discuss measures against Israel's actions. Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majid bin Mohammed Al-Ansari said the summit’s final statement would include a clause condemning attacks on states that act as mediators.
