The Palestinian movement Hamas has decided to release Alexander Trufanov, a Russian citizen held in the Gaza Strip, on February 15 as a gesture of recognition for Russia's support of the Palestinian cause. This was announced by Taher al-Nunu, spokesperson for the political bureau of the movement, in a statement to TASS.
"We believe that Russia's position supports the Palestinian cause," said al-Nunu, emphasizing that Trufanov's release is "a sign of respect for Russia's stance on Palestine."
