Russia will deal with the situation around Sudan's decision to revise the agreement on the naval base, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Wednesday.
"Yes, we have seen these statements. We are in constant contact with the Sudanese side through diplomatic channels. We will deal with this issue," he said.
Sudan's Chief of General Staff Mohammed Usman al-Hussein said in an interview with Blue Nile TV on Tuesday that Sudan would review the agreement with Russia on the naval base because of provisions in the document that could harm the state.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov told reporters that Russia was studying Sudan's decision to revise the agreement.
