Putin and Iraq's PM Discuss Energy and Regional Issues

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed al-Sudani to discuss bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including energy, trade, and logistics, according to the Kremlin's press office.

 

The discussion focused on implementing major energy projects, emphasizing the mutual commitment to strengthening the traditionally friendly and beneficial ties between Russia and Iraq.

 

A key topic was their collaboration within the OPEC+ framework. Both leaders highlighted the importance of ongoing coordination to maintain stability in the global oil market.

 

Regional tensions in the Middle East were also addressed, with both sides expressing concern over the unprecedented escalation in the region.

 

The call concluded with an agreement to maintain regular contacts at various levels to further enhance cooperation.
