Russian President Vladimir Putin and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, who also serves as Prime Minister, discussed the conflict in Ukraine during a recent phone call. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed the topic was addressed but declined to share further details.
“The issue of the Ukraine conflict was indeed touched upon, but there is nothing more to add,” Peskov stated.
The call between the Saudi Crown Prince and President Putin took place on Wednesday. According to the Saudi Press Agency, the two leaders discussed the Ukraine conflict, among other “issues of mutual interest,” and reviewed “the development of the Russia-Ukraine crisis and efforts made toward resolving it.”
The Kremlin's press service noted that the conversation also covered cooperation between Russia and Saudi Arabia in various sectors, coordination within the OPEC+ alliance, Middle East peace efforts, and the outcomes of the recent BRICS summit in Kazan.
