Putin: Illegitimate Kiev Regime Turning into a Terrorist Organization

04 June

Deliberate attacks by Ukraine on civilian infrastructure in Russia confirm that the already illegitimate regime in Kiev is transforming into a terrorist organization, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated during a government meeting.

"These [targeted strikes by Ukraine against Russian civilians] only reinforce our concern that the illegitimate regime in Kiev—which seized power in the past—is gradually turning into a terrorist organization. And those who support it are effectively becoming accomplices to terrorism," Putin said.

On May 31 at 10:44 p.m. Moscow time, a passenger train traveling from Klimovo to Moscow derailed on a single-track section between Pilshino and Vygonichi in Russia’s Bryansk region after a highway bridge collapsed. Regional governor Alexander Bogomaz later confirmed that the derailment was caused by a bridge explosion.

In a separate incident, at around 3 a.m. on June 1, a railway bridge was blown up in the Zheleznogorsk district of the Kursk region, causing a freight train to fall onto a road below.

Russia’s Investigative Committee has classified both incidents as acts of terrorism. According to official reports, seven people were killed in the attacks, and 120 others sought medical attention following the Bryansk incident. In the Kursk region, the train operator and two assistants were injured.
