Putin: Russia Stood by Gaza with Humanitarian Aid During Crisis Peak

22 January

During high-level talks at the Kremlin with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Russian President Vladimir Putin reaffirmed that Russia provided critical humanitarian support to Gaza during the most harrowing stages of the regional crisis.

"Naturally, security issues remain among our most vital topics of discussion," the Russian president noted. "As you are aware, during the most difficult periods of the crisis in Gaza, we provided humanitarian assistance, primarily at your direct request."

According to Putin, Russia has dispatched over 800 tons of aid to the Gaza Strip to date. "We have conducted approximately 32 humanitarian operations," he added. "Furthermore, acting on your request, we facilitated the delivery of wheat, both through direct shipments and via international organizations."
