Russia and Saudi Arabia have signed an intergovernmental agreement on the mutual abolition of visa requirements for holders of all types of passports, a TASS correspondent reports from the signing ceremony.
The countries also signed a memorandum of understanding on climate change and low-carbon development.
Another agreement concerns cooperation in the field of archives.
Earlier, the Russian government approved the possible signing of an agreement on the mutual abolition of visa regimes between Russia and Saudi Arabia.
Currently, Russian citizens require a visa to enter Saudi Arabia, which can be obtained online (e-Visa) or upon arrival at the airport (Visa on Arrival). Both options allow for a stay of up to 90 days and are typically valid for one year with multiple entries.
As outlined in the draft agreement, citizens of both countries will be able to enter each other's territory and stay there visa-free for up to 90 days within a year. To do so, they will need to present a valid passport: an ordinary passport, diplomatic passport, or service passport.
