Subianto Expresses Gratitude to Russian Leadership for Strengthening Bilateral Ties

10 December

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has extended his sincere appreciation to Russia’s leadership for its role in deepening relations between the two countries.

“The main purpose of my visit is to hold consultations with your country, and it is also another opportunity to express our sincere gratitude. At this moment, we are witnessing very dynamic growth in Russian-Indonesian bilateral relations,” he said during talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin.

Prabowo Subianto also thanked Putin for the warm welcome. “I want to express my gratitude for the warm reception given to me and my delegation. I am also aware of how busy your schedule is. I would like to personally thank you for finding the time to receive me, even though we notified you about the visit on rather short notice,” he stressed.

Earlier, the Kremlin press service announced that the presidents would discuss “the further development of the Russian-Indonesian strategic partnership,” as well as current international and regional issues. Putin and Prabowo Subianto last met on September 3 in Beijing during events marking the anniversary of the end of World War II and the victory over militarist Japan.
