Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas described Russia as a vital and steadfast ally during a high-level meeting with President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin. The exchange was broadcast live by the Rossiya-24 news channel.
"Russia has been a great friend to Palestine for more than 50 years," Abbas stated. "Every time we visit Moscow, we feel a profound spiritual connection between our nations. Moscow is our second home; we are among friends here."
The Palestinian leader underscored that Russia has "consistently maintained a firm stance in support of the Palestinian people." He further expressed his hope that, with Moscow’s diplomatic assistance, a peace settlement can be achieved based on "strict adherence to United Nations resolutions."
