Abbas Ready to Engage in International Peace Conference on Palestinian Issue

12 August

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has expressed readiness for an international peace conference to address the Palestinian issue comprehensively. Speaking to TASS ahead of his visit to Moscow, Abbas outlined the Palestinian position on resolving the conflict.

"The strategic solution to the Palestinian issue involves several key elements," Abbas explained. "First, granting the Palestinian people their right to freedom, independence, and self-determination through a two-state solution that adheres to international law and respects the norms of the world community and the United Nations. This includes ending all Israeli unilateral and hostile actions in the West Bank and Jerusalem."

He further emphasized that the conference should address all aspects of the final status of the Palestinian territories and ensure the full withdrawal of troops within an agreed timeframe. Abbas also highlighted the importance of implementing a mechanism for comprehensive regional security to support the peace process.
