Farit Mukhametshin, an Advisor to the Chairman of the Group of Strategic Vision “Russia–Islamic World,” participated in the International Cooperation Forum held at the Russia National Center on October 26-27, 2025. The forum was organized under the auspices of the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo), chaired by Yevgeny Primakov, and marked the centenary of people's diplomacy.
The event served as a unique platform for discussing key topics, including:
· The 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
· The global fight against neocolonialism and neo-Nazism.
· The promotion of Russian traditional spiritual and moral values.
· The preservation of human capital.
The forum brought together approximately 2,000 Russian and international participants, comprising leaders of public organizations, cultural figures, and scientists from over 100 countries.
Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a welcoming address to the forum's participants. Rossotrudnichestvo, established in 2008, traces its lineage back to the All-Union Society for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries (VOKS), founded in the USSR in 1925, which was later transformed into the Union of Soviet Societies for Friendship and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries (SSOD) and then into the Russian Center for International Scientific and Cultural Cooperation. Farit Mukhametshin was the first head of Rossotrudnichestvo (2008-2013), has served as the Special Representative of the Russian President for CIS Affairs, and is a member of the Collegium of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
During the forum, Mukhametshin took part in the plenary session and a number of panel discussions. Participants showed significant interest in the activities of the Group of Strategic Vision “Russia–Islamic World,” a public platform for international people's diplomacy that fosters cooperation with the countries of the Islamic world under the leadership of Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Republic of Tatarstan and Chairman of the Group.
The forum concluded at the Bolshoi Theatre with a summary of proceedings, a gala concert, and an awards ceremony honoring active representatives of people's diplomacy from various countries, as well as directors of Russian Houses abroad.
