The current level of security in Afghanistan is higher than at any point in the last four decades and should be viewed as a model for the region, Afghanistan's Ambassador to Russia Gul Hassan said in a TASS interview.
"The security environment in Afghanistan today has not been seen for the past 40 years and can be considered exemplary at the regional level," the diplomat stated in his inaugural interview as head of the mission in Moscow.
He explained that since the Islamic Emirate established full control over the entire country in 2021, "stable security has been ensured, and the national borders are under the control of the national security forces."
The ambassador acknowledged that while "isolated incidents suggesting attempts at external interference" have occurred in recent months, there are no significant threats to overall security.
"We assure all neighboring states of the reliability and stability of the Afghan security system," Gul Hassan concluded.
