Alexei Skosyrev appointed as new Russian ambassador to Bahrain

Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed Alexei Skosyrev as Russia's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The head of state's decree was published on Tuesday on the official portal of legal information.


By another decree, the president relieved the previous head of the Russian diplomatic mission in Bahrain, Igor Kremnev, who had held the post since 2018.


Alexei Skosyrev previously served as deputy director of the Middle East and North Africa department of the Russian MFA and has the rank of a 2nd class ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary.
