Algeria has affirmed its unwavering solidarity with Syria as the nation confronts ongoing terrorist threats, stated Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf during a phone conversation with Syria’s Foreign Minister, Bassam Sabbagh.
According to a communiqué from Algeria's Foreign Ministry, the two officials discussed recent developments in northern Syria. Attaf reiterated “the steadfast stance of the Algerian government and people, emphasizing their full support for Syria, a brotherly nation, in its efforts to safeguard its sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, security, and stability against terrorism.”
In response, Sabbagh expressed heartfelt gratitude to Algeria for its solidarity and support. He also acknowledged Algeria's backing of Syria's call for an emergency UN Security Council meeting and the inclusion of Syria’s recent developments on the agenda of the Arab League’s next emergency ministerial session.
