Algerian Ambassador Offers Condolences for Russian Colleague's Death in Algeria

Algerian Ambassador to Moscow, Boumediene Gennad, met with Mikhail Bogdanov, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa, to express his condolences on the passing of Russian Ambassador to Algeria, Valeryan Shuvaev. The Russian Foreign Ministry released a statement confirming the meeting.

 

"Ambassador Boumediene Gennad conveyed his condolences regarding the death of Russian Ambassador to Algeria Valeryan Shuvaev on July 3," the ministry reported.

 

The ministry noted that during the meeting, Bogdanov and Gennad discussed matters concerning the further development of the "deepened strategic partnership between Russia and Algeria." The Russian Foreign Ministry added, "There was also a candid exchange of views on the evolving situation in the Middle East and North Africa."

 

The meeting was initiated by the Algerian ambassador.


Russian Ambassador Valeryan Shuvaev passed away at the age of 69 on July 3 in Algeria.
