The visit of the country's President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to Russia is being actively prepared, the Algerian side hopes to carry it out before the end of this year, Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra told RIA Novosti on Friday.
"We hope that it will take place before the end of the year. Now this visit is being prepared, it is important for both our countries, and we are actively and positively engaged in its preparation," the minister said on the sidelines of the Paris Peace Forum.
"We have an extensional program of cooperation. Algeria and Russia are long-standing and important partners for each other. We are conducting a qualitative political dialogue and we hope that the visit of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to Russia will mark the beginning of a new stage of our relations," Lamamra said.
Earlier, Mikhail Bogdanov, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, said that there is an invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin to the head of Algeria to visit Russia and the Russian side is waiting for the timing.
