Aliyev: Majority of Peace Treaty Points with Yerevan Agreed Upon

13 March

Azerbaijan and Armenia have reached an agreement on most of the points in their peace treaty, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev announced.

“Discussions on the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan are ongoing, and the majority of its points have already been agreed upon,” Aliyev stated at the opening of the Global Forum in Baku.

He emphasized Azerbaijan’s commitment to the peace process, noting that his country is essentially the initiator of the agreement. “We must establish peace in the South Caucasus,” Aliyev added.

In February, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reported that the two sides had agreed on 15 out of 17 points of the treaty, with negotiations continuing on the remaining two issues.
