Central Asian countries play a key role in stabilizing international peace and security, said Saudi Ambassador to Ashgabat Sayed Osman Ahmed Suweid. He expressed this opinion in an article marking the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's National Day, published Thursday in the Neytralny Turkmenistan newspaper.
"Central Asian countries, and Turkmenistan in particular, play a key role in stabilizing international peace and security, as well as possessing enormous advantages and natural resources," the ambassador wrote.
He noted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Turkmenistan. The countries, the diplomat continued, have a special relationship that stems from historical common denominators in religion, culture and economy. "In the political sphere, we cooperate and coordinate our actions on various regional and international issues. <...> We look forward to his Excellency's upcoming official visit to the Kingdom and his meeting with the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince," he added.
This year Saudi Arabia celebrated the 92nd anniversary of unification under the Kingdom's founder, King Abdul Aziz bin Abdurrahman Al Saud.
