At least 28 people killed in Pakistani bombing

At least 28 people were killed in an explosion at a mosque in the Pakistani city of Peshawar near the Afghan border. It was reported by Reuters on Monday, citing local authorities.


According to their information, at least 150 victims have been hospitalized.


Earlier it was reported at least 17 dead and 90 injured. According to Reuters, which cited local hospital spokesman Mohammad Asim, the victims were taken to Lady Reading Hospital. Some of them were in serious condition.


Geo-TV noted that the blast happened during midday prayers at a crowded mosque when a suicide bomber detonated an explosion. The Peshawar authorities imposed a medical emergency on all hospitals in the city, and instructed rescue organizations to step up their emergency relief efforts.
