Bahrain's Ambassador: Manama Committed to the BRICS Plus Framework

22 November

Bahrain has not received an invitation to become a partner country in BRICS but remains actively engaged in the BRICS Plus framework, according to Bahrain's ambassador to Moscow, Ahmed Al-Saati, in an interview with TASS.

“We have not received an invitation—this is an international organization, and such an invitation must come directly from it. However, we have consistently participated in BRICS Plus activities. We attended events in Nizhny Novgorod and Kazan, and we continue to take part in all BRICS Plus meetings,” the ambassador explained.

Al-Saati added that Bahrain will carefully monitor the bloc’s evolution before making any decisions about deeper involvement. “It’s essential for us to collaborate with all key players, particularly China, India, and Russia—countries with which we share strong friendships. BRICS is undoubtedly an important organization, but we need to assess its developments and consider the potential benefits for Bahrain before deciding on any further steps,” he said.
