Chairman of Turkmenistan's upper house of parliament Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko have signed a cooperation agreement. This was reported by Turkmenistan's TDH agency on Thursday.
According to the agency, the cooperation agreement between the upper chambers of the parliaments of the two countries was signed in Ashgabat following the First Inter-Parliamentary Forum of Central Asian states and Russia.
Matviyenko earlier on Thursday at the forum in Ashgabat expressed confidence that the new format of inter-parliamentary cooperation would become regular and suggested that it be given "permanent residence" and called the "Ashgabat format".
