Russia is committed to deepening its engagement with African nations and regional organizations across the continent, said Mikhail Bogdanov, Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Representative for the Middle East and Africa. His remarks came during the opening of the 4th “Russia–Africa: What's Next?” Forum and the inaugural Russia–Africa Young Diplomats Forum.
“Today, our country has taken a clear course toward comprehensive enhancement of cooperation with African states and their regional integration bodies,” Bogdanov stated.
He highlighted that the establishment of a dedicated Department for African Partnership within the Russian Foreign Ministry in 2025 underscores the continent’s strategic importance for Moscow.
“We hope that many of those attending today’s forum will soon take part in our joint efforts and help elevate Russian-African cooperation to an entirely new level,” he added.
